There are four valves in the heart. The function of these valves
four valves in the heart |
Our heart (heart or heart) provides blood to the whole body. The heart has four valves-trichusped valves, pulmonary valves, mitral valves, and aortic valves. It is important to understand the functioning of these valves. The unclean blood of all parts of the body is collected in the right atrium part of the heart. From here the blood goes into the right ventricle by the trichuspid valve. When right ventricle contracts, then the blood goes through the pulmonary valve to clean the lungs. After this, the clean blood comes in the left atrium through the pulmonary veins and goes by the mitral valve in the left ventricle from the left atrium. When the left ventricle contracts, then it goes through the blood aortic valve to the whole body. Understanding is important.
Problems with Valve
Most of the four valves of the heart are in the mitral valve due to periodic heart disease, which is called mitral stenosis. Most problems in old age are found in the aortic valve, which is called aortic stenosis. Congenital heart disease is a disease that is found in childhood. These problems are mostly found in the pulmonary valve. This is called pulmonary stenosis. Due to rheumatic heart disease, occasional problems arise in the trichuspid valve, which is called trichuspicious stenosis. People with malfunctioning malfunction should regularly check their blood pressure.
Rheumatic Heart Disease and Valve
In the rheumatic heart disease, the leakage is also created along with the tightening of the valve. When this leakage goes up too much, then we do not have too many options. In this situation, we have to change the valve by open heart surgery, which is called valve replacement. The carun valve of rheumatoid heart disease shrinks. This condition is called mitral stenosis, which we open by the balloon. This balloon processor is called mitral valvuloplasty.
The problem of aortic stenosis is also opened by the balloon processor. This problem is found in most elderly people. In such patients, if we open valves from the balloon, then the valve opens, but the chances of getting stenosis are intact. That is why the balloon was not successful in the aortic valve. However, those patients who are 80 years old and do not fit for surgery, we use the 'Balloon Valveplastic of Aortic Valve' technique. The valve opens well several times with this technique.
Treatment of mitral valve
If the mitral valve leaks too much then we have no choice for it. Surgery is the only option. This surgery is done by giving general anesthesia. The patient has to live with the help of a heart lung machine. Hart is cut by cutting into the chest, old valve is removed and new valve is inserted. Such valves are of two types - first, tissue valve and second metallic valve. If heart chambers are already weak, then the pain of breathing can increase. There may be hardness related to heart beat. In spite of this, in some cases where there is a lot leakage, the only option for heart surgery, ie valve replacement, remains the same.
Valve clipping
In contrast, there are some cases of leakage of the mitral valve. Like after heart attack, the heart becomes very weak and its strength is 20 to 30 percent and the valve leaks. In this situation, surgery is not possible. That's because, in such a situation, there is a lot of risk for the patient and many times the patient avoids such surgery. For such patients, nowadays, there are clippings of mitral valve in certain cases without surgery, which is called mitralaklips. Mitecllips are a type of stapler that is applied by echocardiography and the valve is closed at the center.
This way the amount of leaks is reduced. It also reduces the pain of the patient's breathing and changes in the patient's lifestyle. This is a new treatment, which is happening in most developed countries. This technique is not used much in India right now because it is a very expensive treatment.
Treatment of Congenital Heart Disease
Pulmonary valve is opened with balloon. Regardless of this, many such cases come up when children's valves are very leakage, which is called congenital heart disease. In this situation, non-surgical pulmonary valve replacement is more successful.
Aortic valves and balloon methods
Whenever the neuroin occurs in the aortic valve, it treats it with a balloon, but it has been observed that balloon method has not been successful enough for aortic valve.
Use of core valve
When the core valve came into circulation in 2004, we first used the core valve without surgery at our Heart Institute in the world. The core valve has been used on millions of patients all over the world. It would not be wrong to say that the core valve has proved to be a great boon for the elderly. That's because changing the valve by surgery is risky. Those patients whose surgery can not be done, the valves are changed without surgery.
Complementary surgical and non-surgical methods
In some cases surgery is beneficial. As the aortic roots are bloated, then that route can be changed only by surgery. Surgical and non-surgical methods will always be complementary to each other in terms of treating valves related disorders. According to the condition of the patient and the problem, specialist doctors will continue to recommend surgical or non-surgical valve replacement.
